Brain-Teaser

Dermatologists at a small city surveyed the people of the city about the number of their hairs and found three very interesting facts:
1. There are more persons than there are hairs on any one person.
2. No two people had the same number of hairs.
3. No person had exactly 99999 hairs.
What is the largest possible number of the people who were surveyed?

Answer
Since no person had exactly 99999 hairs and no two people had the same number of hairs, a total of 99999 people were surveyed and they had 0-99998 hairs. Note that the number of people cannot be more since no person had exactly 99999 hairs and there are more persons than there are hairs on any one person.
