Shame
I don't understand how people can be so cruel. Writing is a passion. Writing is an art. And after enjoying a thirty-three chapters of hardwork with a cup of coffee, all you do is criticise and point out mistakes? Don't you ever think about the author's perspective, or her point of view?
People write, to escape the sorrows of their realities, and to make their fantasies real. They write, seeking to be heard. They write, expecting some encouragement. And if you can't give them that, you have every right to stop reading it, but you definitely do not have to insult them just because they have allowed you to give feedback.
It is more than disheartening, that one of the best authors, who'd works I highly appreciate for the touch of humanity and life, has no choice, rather than DELETING her book from the net.

Wake up.
GOD.
Generator, Operator and Destroyer.
Isn't that ridiculous? Sometimes I just wonder why do I even believe in God. It's just an abstract concept that makes absolutely no sense. Someone up there, monitering everything that's going on, keeping a track of everybody's lives, leave alone humans! Don't you think it's a mere waste of time to believe in something that doesn't eve have a proof of it's existion? Well, if you remind me about those ancient scriptures and Lord Rama and Krishna, let me tell you that it's senseless to believe i those tales just by seeing some markings on those big rocks out there. And even if they happen to be true, they were just humans. Normal humans, with ofcourse, extraordinary strength and courage and what not. If there's really someone up there, your so-called 'God', why are brutal crimes still being commited? Why are the innocent put behind bars, and why are the criminals set free? Why are the poor starving?
The concept of God, must have originated with the need to control people. To rise a fear in them. To get kids to sleep, to get men to work hard, to get people to be loyal and honest. Had that man, who introduced this, been alive today, he'd die of regret, for the concept of God, has lead to whole new misery today. Sacrificing innocent living beings' lives for the pleasure of God? Getting your mouths slit, for God's blessings? Walking on buring coal, to wash your sins?
It's not just about hurthing ourselves or others. It's also about damaging our very own home, our very own surroundings, our very own planet. The amount of pollution each of those 'spiritual' rituals release, the amount of non-biodegradable waste that remains it the river banks and beach shores after every Ganesh Chathurthi and what not. Is this what we are living for? To believe in sick taboos? To encourage all these activities? What are we getting educated for, ladies and gentelemen? Can't we pay back a little to the world that has given us everything we need to survive? We can. Indeed. But unfortuately, we are too busy. Busy building our own future, so much, that we tend to forget that the future we are making so many plans for, is already fading away.
Wake up, fellow citizens. Wake up.

Is it really that easy to Lie?
Lies are not something we discuss often. But I was just wondering, since lately, I have been reading books where these intentional false statements just change people's lives!
It's not that we always have to stick to being honest in what-so-ever situation, because, hiding the truth actually makes things better at times, but a life-worsening lie, just for the spur of the moment, well it's not just acceptable.
And moreover, a lie isn't something that clears up everything. It's the opposite. It starts everything!
It leads to more and more lies, just to cover that one lie. And definitely, you choose to lie and cover things up rather than spent loads of apologies, tears and energy and confess the truth!
To be honest, I was surprised at the wikipedia article about a 'Lie'. There was lots of matter in it. There were thirty different types of lies and their consequences and what not!
Here's another thing I might have found interesting:
It is at the age of about four and a half years, when children begin to be able to lie convincingly. Before this, they seem simply unable to comprehend why others do not see the same view of events that they do—and seem to assume that there is only one point of view, which is their own.

Choice
Life is all about making decisions. We all have been at a point where we had to make a choice, a life-changing one. Not always do we end up taking the right path. As humans, we make mistakes. The sooner we realise them, the better. We make suitable amends and continue. But sometimes, we don't have a chance to correct our mistakes. What has been done, has been done. It cannot be changed. So we suffer, every moment, regretting for the biggest mistake of our life.
Just wonder how it would have been if you didn't have a choice, if you had been forced to take the path you have taken. You would have had to face these consequences, no matter what. So, isn't it good to have no choice at all? A life without regret, is all we need, after all!
Now, let us believe: You never make choices in your life. It only appears to you like you make a choice, but it's all destined way before you came into this world.
I find it rather funny. Just imagine you knew what was going to happen next in your friend's life, but you simply enjoy seeing him trying to make better choices. That's what the person up there has been doing for ages xD
Oh look, your past seems sweeter now. You don't have to blame yourselves for what has been happening!

I disagree with an author I once considered my favourite!
There's this poem called If Mice Could Roar by Ruskin Bond, which I just came across... It says:
Nature is good the way it is. What fun would it be for mice to roar, or for a tortoise to run? It would be monsoon all year long, if a songs brought showers! How can once expect the world to be nicer that way?
Anyway, I admit, it's just an art of poetry that Sir Ruskin Bond has portrayed. I just want to express my views. What right would I have, to offend a poem selected as one among the best of Ruskin Bond's?
It's just that India, being a democratic country, allows its citizens to voice their opinions, and I am making the most of this freedom :D
Please comment, isn't this something nice to discuss about?!

Overwhelming Oxymorons...! :D
Hello... Check out this awesome Oxymoron paragraph....!!!
The oxymoron has also been called
"the show-off" figure, one that gives voice to life's inherent
conflicts and incongruities.
"The true beauty of
oxymorons," says Richard Watson Todd, "is that, unless we sit back
and really think, we happily accept them as normal English."
Todd illustrates his point in the following passage:
It was an open secret that the company had used a paid
volunteer to test the plastic glasses. Although they were made using
liquid gas technology and were an original copy that looked almost
exactly like a more expensive brand, the volunteer thought that they were pretty
ugly and that it would be simply impossible for the general public
to accept them. On hearing this feedback, the company board was clearly
confused and there was a deafening silence. This was a minor
crisis and the only choice was to drop the product line.
But then
all of that may be old news to you.

Oh, dear Helen!
Miss Helen Keller, (for I know not, if you are married!)
I do understand that you have tried to be humorous, somewhere in Chapter 20 of the Story of your Life... but may I remind you, that the French and German books, plays, dramas, Shakespearean plays, and a lot more whose characters you have mentioned right there, and completely unknown to us and hence, make very little sense!
Anyhow, I am extremely impressed by the quality of speech used in the book and extent of relativity it has got with student lives!

The pleasure, of Satisfaction!
I'm happy, and that's weird, coz I hardly find myself satisfied!!!
Why am I happy? For, I am able to actually execute what I planned... not 100% though, but, to a extent!

Weird!!!
The allure of Hospitalis restaurant is a peculiar mix of hedonism and aseptic dread of hospitals. Here bartenders wear lab coats and waitresses and are dressed in skimpy nurse uniforms and fluorescent orange wigs. They will strap you in a strait jacket and spoon feed you if you order that special item in the menu, and sign the mandatory agreement. Meals are served in stainless steel dishes and eaten with surgical utensils. Drinks are served in medical beakers and test tubes.
It's a horror show meets dinning experience, one that takes your sense of reality, and possibly a sensitive stomach, for a dark, dream-like roller-coaster ride.

I#1 When does life become miserable?
It's got innumerable answers, and trust me, there is no RIGHT or WRONG answer!
If you asked what my opinion is, then:
We all know what we should do and what not to...
We are very much sure about what is good and what isn't...
And also how to behave and how not to...
But yet,
when we do what we shouldn't,
that which isn't good...
and behave how we are not to...,
Life "seems" to become miserable!

Blood Falls?
One of the world's most extreme deserts might be the last place one would expect to find a waterfall, but in Antarctica's McMurdo Dry Valley, a five-story fall pours slowly out of the Taylor Glacier into Lake Bonney. And it's not just the idea of a waterfall in the frozen world of Antarctica that is strange: the waterfall is bright red, like blood running from a cut in the glacier.
The water that feeds Blood Falls is completely cut off from the atmosphere—it has never seen sunlight and is completely devoid of oxygen. It's also extremely rich in iron, which was churned into the water by glaciers scraping the bedrock below the lake. When water from the subglacial lake seeps through a fissure in the glacier, the salty water cascades down the Taylor Glacier into Lake Bonney below. When the iron-rich water comes into contact with the air, it rusts—depositing blood red stains on the ice as it falls.
That's just too cool, right?!

A Century!!!
Hello readers,
I am beyond happy to announce that this is the hundredth post of the blog!
I am beyond happy to announce that this is the hundredth post of the blog!
An Inspiration!
What can an exam give you?
A chance to test your textbook knowledge? High grades? Seat in a good college?
Have you ever known that exams could give you inspiration? Maybe... Could an exam introduce you to a legendary poem? It did! to me... I came across this poem on my English question paper..!
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
And never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings---nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And---which is more---you'll be a Man, my son!

A wonderful day!
Today, was one my most eventful Sundays!
Though I wasn't very happy at sunrise, mourning the fact that I had to wake up quite early on a Sunday morning, the rest of the day, was fruitful!
In the morning, I got ready and attended YES! follow-up at SJR Redwoods Clubhouse, Sarjapur Road.. I made a few friends and had a lot of fun! It was great time that I'd spent there...
That occupied the first half of my day... i mean it took petty much of time to travel, since it was a long distance, and the follow-up lasted for a couple of hours...
Afternoon, after finishing my lunch I watched Dhoom3! It was too good.... I'd probably give as 4.3 stars!
After the movie, I tried to study and get ready for school tomorrow, but unfortunately, i wasn't much successful with that! :D (as usual!)
Then I'd done some timepass, roaming around the house and some social networking....
At 6:30, I'd got ready for the B'day Party... It was great....I spent some time with my old buddies, we had a yummy dinner.. and I'd also helped by serving ice-creams there!
Finally, I'm here, at home, blogging all this stuff!
P.S. I guess this is my first personal post in here!

Being happy: A choice to make?
I think the title makes it quite clear that I'm discussing something about Happiness... But wait, is happiness a choice? Can you choose to be happy?
I once heard from our History teacher, Gandhiji's words which say that nobody could ever hurt him without his very own permission! Well, if you try to analyse it, it does make sense.. Infact, a lot of sense.
I was amazed at how happy I was this morning. It wasn't a situation in which I could be happy... I would hesitate to tell more about it, though. The only thing I can say, is that all that made me happy was thinking about the positive side of the issue. If you observe closely, everything that you consider a burden, if thought about the other way round, seems to be an asset... An asset that could give pleasure.... happiness... knowledge... or even wealth!
I must agree that I am making a mess out of these abstract issues... but hey, it is worth thinking about! Please comment!

Visions?
Have you ever experienced this? You just wake up from a dream, and say "Thank goodness, it was only a dream!!!" and then later in the day you whisper to yourselves, "Crap! The dream came true!"
Well, if you haven't had such an experience, believe me, it's wonderful! It happened to me today! I am not very happy with it, though. :'( :'( :'(
Can this be linked to visions? Probably. Wikipedia describes a Vision this way:
In spirituality, a vision is something seen in a dream, trance, or ecstasy, especially a supernatural appearance that conveys a revelation. Visions generally have more clarity than dreams, but traditionally fewer psychological connotations. Visions are known to emerge from spiritual traditions and could provide a lens into human nature and reality.
Um.. so what was that all about? That's probably a situation when you dream that someone's dead, and the next day, one of your dear ones expire.. This reminds me of something that my friend experienced... Just before going to bed, she just felt that something wrong was going to happen, probably someone would die. The next day, to her dismay, she got a phone call stating that one of her uncles passed away! This isn't a dream... Is it a vision? No? I wonder if there is a possible scientific explanation behind this...
Please share your views...

Boon or bane?
It's amazing how little disturbances ruin our happiest moments within a fraction of time... This is probably one of the best ways to prove that negativity is way more powerful than positiveness. Well, there is nothing special about this issue, because everyone one of you know it as a fact.. We often eve mourn over the practical experiences of this concept, but at the same time, do't you think we need to learn to accept this?! If you still do't get what i mean, let me explain you better...
We probably need to make the know fact a part of our life... It's something like turning something you consider temporary to something that is permanent..
Of course, I do understand that you are't interested in abstract concepts, but believe me, it helps... You just need to think that happiness is temporary.. you just need to remember that negativity is always there.. It's just hidden when there is more of positivism.. Otherwise, it is highly impossible for little mis-happenings to create so much impact o us..
If you possible think that what I'm discussing here is all in vain, the.. there are two possibilities:
1. I am not able to describe whatever's on my mind in an understandable way..
2. You are not interested in understanding what I am trying to convey...
As of now, if you are in a dilemma about deciding which option suits in your situation, go for the first... It has got positiveness! :P :D
P.S. The above are my own ideas and each and every word is written by me, myself.

Think over it....
What if a guy just told you in between a conversation, that his life has got too many problems to handle... And he just can't resist them anymore... And the thing that keeps him away from suicide is fear of failure....!
Now that's weird, isn't it?! I mean... people probably attempt suicide because they failed or they are scared that they'd fail, no matter in what.... But this guy says that fear of failure keeps him away from suicide....
Um... not to bore you with mathematics, but if you'd like to compare, with "probability", It is a situation which says P(E) = P(not E) which is practically impossible because P(E) = 1 - P(not E). If you put your brain to work, with not much of hardwork, you could find a possible explanation to this..
Just think about it... link failure and suicide..... got it? To make things easier, let me explain... All the guy is scared of is that, if he attempts to kill himself and he fails to die, his life would be worse... He would be known as "the guy who tried to die".... What would the society call him? A coward? A mentally retarded person? A depressed person? Would his friends be the same with him? No... That would would a much more miserable place than where he is now.... and that's how in this situation, fear of failure acts as a cause and ... um.. probably "cure" for suicide..... right?!
Do you have any views about it..? Anything similar to share? If yes, please comment... You'd make my day!
Cheers,
Megz.
